Sometimes stuff rhymes, most of the time not, I don’t write for anyone or any one thing, I write because I am propelled to write…and most of the time, what I write becomes poetry.

Transience (Part 1)

I have seen these worst days…
rain down on me
They encompass all the hardships
that encompass me
My fortified soul
and my brave demeanour
Take the toll
of heartless raging drums
For like the nightwalkers that walk
from the light
I do not succumb
And so this transient soul
no longer carries the light
For the dark days come henceforth
fortified by the night.

Halo

you wear a halo
the one I was supposed to wear
you took it upon yourself
you didn’t run scared
you stepped in front of my bullet
the one meant to pierce me
you reminded me of humanity forgotten
how far your life could have been
you now wear the halo
the crown of the brave
you fly with wings of golden light
the archangel of the same.

‘I miss the feeling how when every day we would kiss’

I miss the feeling how when every day we would kiss,
It’d feel like our first kiss
I miss how the sweat would bead off your breast
The crest
of your lower back…
Instead, I’d hold you, so very tight
As if I were the string, and you were the kite
Instead of the sunset
It’d be sun’s goodnight
And flow the nectar of your love
From your mouth
From above
And it reached me
So indeed I swallow and remember the taste
For God brought forth, without haste
And tomorrow’s night
Will no longer be dark
Engulfed the world with this inferno
Inferno if love
Love if from your heart was sparked.

‘Tranquil rain’

Tranquil rain
Hateful pain
The search for Zen
Competition in men
War is crime
Never enough time
Come here my dear
Fear is near
Wish to soar
Riches for poor
Holy is light
Angels in flight
Harmony is true
Sky stay blue
Emancipate your soul
Remain as whole
Characters in the night
I reach for a new height
I wish to share
Women will bare
New children voices
So many choices
So much to say
To whom I pray
Close my eyes
Say your goodbyes

Butterfly

held back, in a cocoon filled with pain
there she laid alone, tears laid the same
a lowly glistening leaf bounced toward it some light
its only intention, to sustain the new born butterfly in flight
now flapping, freely, in a new world to be seen
that cocoon that held her for so long
abandoned, fell to the ground in shame
that lowly glistening leaf, bounced toward the darkness some light
awaiting the next trapped butterfly, to sustain it in flight

About Me
In self-reflection; I can honestly say all that is good in my life has been a direct result of my artistic expression. Be it through writing poetry, prose, or philosophy, through painting or photography, or through filmmaking, art saved my life and it can save yours.
